RED VELVET – Sustainability Pledge

The events and activation industry plays an important role in the discussion around climate change. It is our responsibility as professionals to understand the impacts of our actions and how we can provide an environmentally conscious experience for all guests, clients and partners from the materials we use, the food we serve and how we choose to clean up after ourselves.

Events have an environmental impact, and we are taking steps to be more conscious of actions and take preventive measures to ensure live experiences continue for all future generations.

Travel

Our goal is to limit carbon emissions relating to guest and client travel. We prioritize the use of carpooling, public transportation, or direct flying.

Food and Beverage

Locally sourced food and beverage is always our number one priority. We partner with local food banks and homeless shelters to prevent as much food waste as possible. For food that is not accepted by donation centers, we are working towards a partnership with organic composting services, such as CompostNow for regional needs or the City of Austin’s Curbside Composting for local.

Energy and Production

Electricity and product manufacturing are considerable factors in creating CO2 emissions. We are committed to limiting the usage of gas generators, finding sustainable production partners who specialize in using recycled materials and prioritizing energy-efficient resources like LED lighting, solar panels, and smart grids.

We have partnered with Net-Zero Carbon Events to help us understand sustainable practices we can incorporate into our work.
