context.

Transform Sneaker Politics’ 600–700-square-foot Austin storefront into an immersive Louisiana swampland celebrating the limited-edition Crocs “Watch Your Step” collaboration. With just days between final production and launch, the experience needed to make a big impression within a compact footprint and the realities of Austin’s peak event season. Every touchpoint needed to bring the shoe’s distinctive design to life, from its removable ghillie shroud and snake Jibbitz to its venomous snake-inspired packaging. The challenge was to create an environment that felt ambitious, authentic, and worth exploring without overbuilding the space or blowing the budget.

the ask.

RED VELVET brought the Louisiana landscape to Sneaker Politics at Austin’s 2nd St. store through a series of connected environments inspired by the region’s swamplands, dense forests, and drier terrain. Led creatively by RED VELVET’s Sr. Experiential Design Director with Louisiana roots, the design balanced regional authenticity with a playful sense of discovery, weaving natural textures, overgrown greenery, Spanish moss, and specialty lighting throughout. We created a journey that moved customers from first impression to hands-on discovery and try-on.

solution.

The “Watch Your Step” launch transformed a compact retail storefront into an immersive brand experience that fully actualized the limited-edition collaboration. Sneaker Politics essentially “sold out” with 299 of the 315 pairs purchased, achieving 95% sell-through over launch weekend, with just 16 pairs remaining. The experience gave customers more than a place to shop, creating opportunities to discover the product, interact with its distinctive details, and experience the story behind the drop.
